T A P E Collective - Zine Launch
After years of screening films by, for and about about women of colour TAPE is following up with some words to go with the cinematic.
The first issue - “They Thought We Were Token” looks at the dull inclusion of minority women in western cinema, their reluctance to be token and our reluctance to settle for the representation of Becky’s good friend.
Beyond celebrating the launch we’d love to celebrate the true diversity of London creatives, and hope you can join us for discussions, rants, and eventually shifting the look at positive representation of BAME women in cinema.
The "They Thought We Were Token” issue is the result of collaborations with incredible writers, illustrators, filmmakers, curators and more. Zines, t-shirts and prints will be on sale on the night. There'll be music, and exhibiting of visual artists in a safe and inclusive space.
