A Quiet Place

Director: John Krasinski
Starring: Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, John Krasinski, Noah Jupe
Duration: 90 min

Living an isolated farmhouse in Upper State New York, a family must navigate a post-apocalyptic world without making a single sound. Either that, or risk being shredded alive. In the shadows lurk spider-like creatures that hunt by sound rather than sight, and which are lying in wait for their next victim. For devoted mother and father (Krasinski and Blunt), son Marcus (Jupe) and partially deaf daughter Regan (Simmonds), life turns into a deadly game of hide-and-seek. The family must walk barefoot, communicate in sign language – which they understand because of Regan’s hearing difficulties – and stifle their every breath to avoid making a noise. It’s a game that becomes even more dangerous when Blunt discovers that she’s pregnant. Staying alive means forever staying one-tiptoed-step ahead.
